Tyson Fury is once again the Heavyweight champion of the world. After a controversial and exciting draw, (Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury 1), Fury needed no judges for their second match.

In the first match, Fury fought as the counter-puncher, meaning Fury was allowing Wilder to be the aggressor and used lateral movements to be out-box Wilder. However, Fury had moments in the fight by backing Wilder against the ropes and landing solid boxing combinations. Though Fury’s coach Ben Davison told him in between rounds to stop being the aggressor and to stick to the game-plan of being the counter-puncher. Fury was successful in out-boxing Wilder, but the judges ultimately decided that the fight was a draw.

In the lead-up to Fury-Wilder 2, Fury parted ways from Ben Davison and setup fight camp at Kronk gym. Kronk gym, well-known boxing gym produces aggressive boxers such as Thomas Hearns, Hilmer Kenty, Milton McCory, and Gerald McClellan. In Fury-Wilder 2, Fury’s preparation in Kronk gym showed he became the aggressive boxer that could successfully beat Wilder.

Throughout the match of Wilder-Fury 2, Fury was controlling the center of the ring, leaning and clinching into Wilder (Fury outweighed Wilder by forty-two pounds) to not give Wilder space to land his punches. In the third and fifth round Fury dropped Wilder, and in the seventh round a visibly tired and physically beaten Wilder was backed up against a corner, while Fury was landed boxing combinations at will. Wilder’s coach saw enough of his fighter being beaten and threw in the towel, thus granting victory to Fury. Fury still lacks one more victory to be considered one of the greatest Heavyweight fighters of all-time and that opponent is Anthony Joshua.

A fight between Joshua-Fury would unify all the major Heavyweight champion belts. Since both boxers are British their match would easily sell-out Wembley stadium offering ninety thousand plus in attendance. Speculation of Joshua-Fury has been stalled due to Wilder claiming he will implement his rematch clause to fight Fury for a third time

Personally, I did not want to see Wilder-Fury 3 due to Fury dominating Wilder in the second match. I predict the Wilder-Fury 3 will end the same as the second match or sooner. Joshua-Fury intrigues me due to their fighting style. Fury fights being aggressive, while Joshua fights as a traditional in-and-out boxer. Their boxing styles creates a mystery of which boxing style to overcome the other.

Frank Warren, Fury’s boxing promoter recently said he will try to pay-off Wilder to waive his right for a rematch in order to set-up a fight with Joshua. Hopefully in the upcoming weeks boxing fans and I will hear the announcement of Joshua-Fury. Fury beating Wilder, has made Fury the WBC, The Ring and Lineal Heavyweight champion. Fury still lacks the WBA, IBF, and WBO Heavyweight championship belts currently obtain by Anthony Joshua.
